Cold Lead Finder — discover new prospects automatically

The Cold Lead Finder is an AI-powered prospecting tool that searches the public web — Reddit discussions, Hacker News threads, LinkedIn posts, industry forums, and search results — to find people and companies actively looking for what you sell.

These are not random contacts from a purchased list. These are people who have posted a question, complaint, or request that matches your product’s value proposition — real buying intent from real people.

How it works

1. You define your ICP and problem keywords — in Settings or by telling the AI Coach what kinds of customers you are looking for
2. The agent searches continuously — scanning Reddit, Hacker News, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and niche forums for relevant posts and discussions
3. AI qualifies matches — reads the post in context to confirm the person actually has the problem your product solves (not just using the keyword casually)
4. Leads appear in Cold Leads — each with the source post, a summary of why they match, and a suggested outreach message

Setting up the Lead Finder

Go to Leads → Cold Leads → Configure.

Define your search criteria

Enter:

• Problem keywords — phrases your ideal customers use when they have the problem you solve. E.g., “looking for a CRM alternative”, “lead scoring tool”, “competitor analysis software”
• Industry filters — limit results to specific industries (e.g., SaaS, e-commerce, marketing agencies)
• Company size filters — exclude solo freelancers or enterprise companies if they are not your target
• Exclude keywords — filter out irrelevant posts (e.g., exclude “homework”, “assignment” if your keywords are generic)

Set scan frequency

Choose how often the finder runs: every 6 hours (default), every 12 hours, or daily. More frequent scans use more AI credits.

Working your cold leads

Each cold lead card shows:

• Source — the platform and a link to the original post
• Person or company — name, LinkedIn profile link (when available), and company details
• Why they match — 2-3 sentence AI summary of why this person is a relevant prospect
• AI score — same 0-100 scoring system as your warm leads
• Suggested opener — an AI-drafted outreach message referencing their specific post naturally

Add to pipeline

Click Add to Leads on any cold lead to move it into your main lead pipeline with status “New”. The source post and AI summary are stored in the lead notes automatically.

Dismiss irrelevant leads

If a lead does not match, dismiss it with a reason. The finder learns from dismissals and improves its targeting over time.

Community Leads — a note on Reddit

Reddit is often the highest-quality source for cold leads because people post specific, honest questions in niche communities. A post like “I’m evaluating CRM options for a 15-person sales team — what do you use?” in r/sales is an ideal target.

CooVex monitors relevant subreddits continuously and identifies posts where the person describes a problem you solve. The AI checks: is this a real business need, or is it a student doing research? Only genuine commercial intent makes the cut.
